European Commission Updated Guidance Document on the Toy Safety Directive 2009/48/EC

The European Commission has recently published an updated version (1.4) of the Toy Safety Directive Explanatory Guidance Document.

The many changes introduced include an important clarification of the obligations of distributors, particularly in relation to technical documentation. Further amendments relate to the wording of the Declaration of Conformity, hygiene requirements for soft toys and the visibility requirement for warnings.

CHANGES MADE COMPARED TO PREVIOUS VERSION：

1. Clarification to obligations of distributors
2. Clarification on economic operators
3. Clarification on the visibility requirement
4. Clarification to wording of DoC
5. Clarification on labelling for hygiene
